Made with organic cotton using AgroEcological farms in the northeast of Brazil. It was spun and woven by a cooperative of women funded by the UN, and natural dyed using skin of onions (“cebola” in Portuguese).

Onion skins are one of the most readily available and reliable natural dyestuffs. If you want an easy introduction to natural dyeing, start collecting your onion skins and check this website. Yellow onion skins give rich golden yellow to pumpkin shades. Red give greenish or brown colors. Just in case you wondering, it doesn’t smell like onion onde dyed.
