More about the dyeing material: ERVA-MATE

Erva-mate (Portuguese) or Yerba mate (Spanish) is used to make a tea beverage known as “mate”. The drink can be also called “chimarrão” or “tererê” when cold. It is traditionally consumed in the southern regions of South America. It was first cultivated by indigenous Guaraní people and in some Tupí communities. Yerba mate can be found in various energy drinks on the market, as well as being sold as a bottled or canned iced tea, but we prefer it hot and bitter.
